There must be a song about acceleration, but the only thing I keep hearing is Jan & Dean playing "She Won't Come Back from Dead Man's Curve".
The FIT market continues to deteriorate, in spite of the fact properties purchased over 24 months ago fall off this chart.
Total FITs are up 2.8% this week. And we have a new term for MEW (Mortgage Equity Withdrawal, used formerly to chart cash out refi $s): Mortgage Equity Withered. This month, MEW increased $6,000,000 to $104,000,000. Vanished into thin air. You can't buy a Hummer with those losses. Why you can't even buy a Prius.
in spite of the fact properties purchased over 24 months ago fall off this chart.
I can safely say that the 24 month rule is leaving out an increasingly greater proportion of FITs each week, though I'm not in a position to quantify the change right now.
I'll have more to say on this subject later on this week.
Max, We always look forward to your number crunching. I wonder how much the true FIT number will exceed the 1843 counted on this site today. Remember when it was 600 FITs? When did you start counting FITs anyway?
Argh. Single-family places for $350k! I should have gone to work for L3 when Lockheed gave us all the finger.

$175 a square foot is still way out of whack.
Houses in Elk Grove sold for about $125 a square foot back in 2002.
Those houses in THE 95757 have got another 40% to go and then they will be in an affordable range.
There are 881 houses that are about ready to go into foreclosure in 95757.
The inventory level is roughly 15 months right now. It will go up to about 24 months by the end of the year.
CNN just ran an article that Sacramento is only down 3.1%.
