Only 1138 FITs this week. I believe that is down from last weeks 1200 FITs.
Max, any idea what is going on? Are all these FIT's finally capitulating and dropping the houses back to the lenders? They can not be selling. Most of them are still way overpriced.
Give it time this is a slow motion housing implosion.
Only 1138 FITs this week. I believe that is down from last weeks 1200 FITs.
Actually, last week only had 1104. I think someone just threw out the 1200 number in the comments last week...
The only county that saw a drop was Yolo, which went down by 3 listings.
I have a theory about a pattern I see here. I invite any and all to discuss this or poke holes in it. I'm just trying to make some sense.
It seem that the houses here fall into 2 categories; those that have closed last summer or so, and those from 2004-2005.
My thinking is that the 2006 closing represent true flippers who never intended to be in the deal more than a few months, thus they maxed themselves out getting in and rehabbing and didn't have enough stored away to make very many payments.
The 2004 and 2005 properties were those purchasers who didn't fully understand their loand and were probably peddled option ARMs. They're payments have now either reset or are about to and they're panicking.
Any thoughts?

"The only county that saw a drop was Yolo, which went down by 3 listings."
And the New10 piece said that filing were up by 400%.
"“The figures from Foreclosures.com represent filings from lenders against homeowners who’ve defaulted on their loans. The hardest-hit county in California based on percentage was Yolo, with a nearly 400-percent increase from the year before.”
Should we be seeing homes coming off the market as they go through the default process?
Anyway you slice it, Yolo needs a whole lot more pain, imho
The FEDS are stepping into save/protect their asses/money. What impact do you think this will have on the housing market???
People who bought home's they couldn’t afford, and took money out (REFI) against their HOMES to buy other things they couldn’t afford SHOULD NOT be bailed out!!! They should suffer for being STUPID, SELFISH and GREEDY!!!
Its time we stop blaming others and hold ourselves accountable!!!
Stupid Babies :(
